I'm not sure how viable the server GPU's are for DAZ. I know people who use dual 3090 TI's, and it works well. I don't know anyone who uses server GPU's. And no offense, but unless you have personal experience using server GPU's with DAZ specifically, I'm going to take their advice over yours. Your advice is probably right for a lot of situations, but that doesn't mean it will hold true for my specific workflow.

Well vram problem is solved with getting server GPU. Rendering I'm sure can work with non SLI. There's reason why nivida ditch it, it's because it simply be better to buy one or multiple non sli 4090. Many people have made this mistake of sticking to a more backwards card cause SLI. You're just working against yourself doing that.

Ah, but you forget one thing. You can't use SLI/nv-link to connect two 4090's together, combining their total VRAM to 48 GB. NVidia decided to ditch SLI for the 4000-series cards. You can, however, still use SLI with two 3090 TI's. So that's the advantage. SLI is a tech that the industry has moved away from, but it's very useful for things like rendering in DAZ... at least, until NVidia comes out with a consumer-grade video card that has more than 24 GB. Going over 24 GB of memory isn't the end of the world, but it does cause problems. When that happens, you have to render in CPU mode, which is way slower. What would have taken less than an hour to render a high-res 4K render, can instead take a whopping 2-3 hours of render time! I usually try to optimize scenes to avoid that, but sometimes I slip up and go over budget, and it can cause some pretty big delays. So why didn't I just get another 3090 TI, if it would have been better and faster? Well, I would have probably needed to get a new case... and more fans... and riser cables... and possibly a new power supply... And possibly spend $500-$1,000 to install a dedicated breaker just for my PC, because my current breaker can barely handle the load when my PC is rendering an intense scene, and I'm using other appliances at the same time! Also, SLI is a pretty niche tech, so I wouldn't be surprised if some future iRay update takes support for it away.

Better to save up for second 4090 or server GPU remember one GPU unit that's powerful is always better than many. Distributed computing has always been a sub par field we can do but monolithic approach is always best.
