It makes me really happy to be able to offer everyone extended interviews with the same designers over multiple seasons. Often times, when I find an interview by a designer I love, I find the interview failed to dive into the specifics of what makes them great. Here with Jan Jan (and elsewhere on the Patreon with Kartik Research, Airei, and Geoffrey B Small), we're finally able to dig in with enough context to fully understand what this brand is doing and why they're so important.
As you can imagine, this approach does not work with every fashion designer since most fashion designers do not work so deeply and purposefully. It's honestly been an honor to find, research, explore and dive into brands like this so we can bring you all this coverage.

what a great approach when garment creation starts with planning the fabric. No-waste cutting is a very ancient concept. It's great to see it coming back with many other traditional techniques.
