Wow.. I love the way you described the risks of demonic arts. Reminds me of gambling!!

AnythingAtAll

My beloved politics. I perked up when all those minor factions were mentioned. It was a pleasant surprise to see that Troulon has a sympathetic motivation, and it's a motivation that's steeped in politics. It looks like he's managed to ingratiate himself into the inner circle of demons, but only that and nothing else. We still know too little about all the other factions to get a sufficient reading of them, but I'm more than ready to hunker down in the Commonwealth and get to know them all. In particular, I'm very interested in the artisan unions. I suppose it would make sense that people specializing in materials critical enough to have dedicated chakra powers centered around them would be in high demand and thus important even to a species with little to no regard for societal structures. I wasn't expecting them to have unionized, though. With such a volatile continent like Rosemount where empires rise and fall in record time, you'd think they wouldn't have been allowed to scrabble their own pocket of order and stability that can benefit their workers in the constant chaos. Was Omi (I'm absolutely using this nickname from now on) part of one of them, I wonder? More than any other faction, I think they have the most interesting position. I'm really looking forward to hopefully seeing more of them, which does seem likely since Lilaetiel has to be confronted at some point, and she's entangled with them. Also, one thing caught my attention in particular. The Great Library has survived hundreds of conquerors? Hundreds? How long has the Great Library existed? Or is Traebor just conquered what, every year or something? Now I'm 50/50 on whether Troulon does end up being Omi's final boss. The most interesting outcome is that they end up restoring their friendship, but Troulon can't control his demonic urges and Omi still has to kill him anyway. It would give her some consequences that have been pretty absent up to this point. Of course, the downside is that having to do that won't come as a result of any of Omi's choices, so I don't think it's a good choice story-wise. Then again, I could be wrong. Demonic arts have been more versatile than I gave them credit for, which makes those final lines from Omi all the more suspicious. Is she truly done with them? They have so much potential, and I don't mean just the sheer amount of Power. The idea of being able to 'eat minds' is a really interesting power. With capacities like that, what else can demonic arts offer? I think Kai and ZZN are well past them already, but I don't think Omi has completely shut that door just yet. Of course, the problem is that Kai is already someone who consumes other living things to empower himself. A demonic Omi may seem redundant. We'll see. Thanks for the chapter and happy writing!
