actually im pretty sure the term has always been kpop at least beginning in early 2000s it was, i wouldn't give billboard credit for that one

The term kpop was invented by western publications (i think it was billboard) to describe what in korea is called idol music. It was really interesting to see how the western industry tried to box and categorize bts. I can talk for hours about this topic but your thoughts at the end of the video summarize some main keys of this discussion.
