The game is NOT using/applying Xbox, Playstation or PC HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has a very good HDR implementation by offering almost perfect black levels and precise in-game HDR sliders including a Peak HDR Luminance control (in nits value) which can go up to 10.000 nits with only a minor caveat: set Peak Brightness +10% higher the value of the slider to actually match it on the Display (after measurements)
If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
Set PEAK BRIGHTNESS slider to: 4.400 (nits)
Set BRIGHTNESS (Paper White) slider to: 200 (nits)
> you're using HGIG:
Set Overall Brightness slider to: 880 (nits) or 1.100 (for G2/C4) or 1.700 (for G3/G4/C5) or 2.200 (for G5)
Set BRIGHTNESS (Paper White) slider to: 200 (nits) or 280 (for G3/G4/C5) or 300 (for G5)
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
Set PEAK BRIGHTNESS slider to: 1.100 (nits)
Set BRIGHTNESS (Paper White) slider to: 200 (nits)
> you're using HGIG:
Set PEAK BRIGHTNESS slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits" (then add +10% to it)
Set BRIGHTNESS (Paper White) slider to: 200 (nits) up to 1.000nits or 280 (from 1.000 to 1.500 nits) or 300 (for 2.000 nits and above)
In all cases set HUD BRIGHTNESS to 100 (nits) and BLACK POINT to -0.2 to fix a slight black level raise introduced with the August 2025 patch.
BONUS:
On Consoles: use the "Performance" graphic mode for better smoothness and input latency
On PC:
- Use my UET Mod to improve performance, lower latency and have better clarity at the same time, all with no visual loss ;)

UPDATE 2025/08/31 - Black Point is recommended to -0.2 after August 2025 patch to fix a slight black level raise in HDR - Fixed rounded values as suggestions

Can depend from panel to panel. Rtings got one around 1.400 nits. Using 1.500 should cover all variances

Hi I have LG C5 and its not 1500 nits but 1200nits for this tv π

DTM: Off and HGIG: Off is the worst combo you can have... That said you should use 4.000 nits in that case. I highly suggest using PC Mode/Icon + 4:4:4 Pass Through Enabled + ALLM + VRR + HDR FMM + HGIG enabled via ColorControl on G4.

As a general recommendation.. if I have DTM off and I can't get HIGI to work, which setting would you recommend for a LG G4? The 1600 nits or 4000? I used your other settings but not fond of the loss of color DTM seems to provide. Thank you.

On PS5 you can only input full numbers, so on G3 should I use 1700 peak brightness and 280 paper white brightness?

My settings look totally different (PS5 Pro). Maybe new update? Only brightness and shadows slider is available. Seems that system calibration now is implemented
