🕑 Added 2025-03-27 23:04:15 +0000 UTCAfter a bit of a delay, the lore keepers have okayed Chapter 11. No edits were required or suggested; it's just that everyone's busy with their own lives and writing. I've taken this chapter from drafts and added it to the main chapter list for those of you who prefer to read officially approved QT stories! I'll be adding Chapter 10 to LitE in the next few days - submissions there also go through a vetting process, which holds things up.
I'm currently working on a 'prequel' story based on text I cut from a chapter early on. It covers Mira and, more specifically, Catherine's arrival on the island just prior to the UK lockdown in March 2020. I've not decided whether to release it on LitE yet; it might just reside here to avoid confusing anyone.
Of course, I've one eye towards Chapter 12, which I'm hoping to start soon!

BTW did you realise that chapter 9 isn’t up here?

My recent experience with the other authors showed that several of them got confused despite the earlier dates (and my specific comments about it being a flashback-type chapter). I can only imagine the same would apply to casual readers. Also, in terms of the actual story, it adds very little—hence, it was snipped in the first place. However, given that Chapter 12 will be Catherine's vaccination, I thought it would be interesting to write about how she was when she first arrived. I'll hopefully have a draft published here soon, and I'll be happy to take input on it.

Why not do it as a flashback chapter?
