I don’t usually comment, but I felt it might help to share some perspective here. Your original comment came across as a bit blunt and rude, which may be why the response you received felt similarly curt (although it did not feel to me as if anyone was trying to ridicule your belief). When someone puts hours of work into something creative, seeing “I didn’t like that ending” without any further explanation can feel disheartening. It’s totally fine not to like something, but if there’s no constructive feedback to offer, it’s sometimes best to hold back or rephrase, or perhaps not comment at all. That said, I don’t mean to disrespect anyone’s personal beliefs (even though I’m somewhere between agnostic and atheist) and I’m certainly not trying to excuse anyone’s reaction, just hoping this adds some context.
