Belcourt feels like a dark fairy tale villain. He has a jovial attitude despite his menacing presence, and does ridiculous things, like turning his own leg undead and jumping to the top of a tower and turning it into golems. Interesting to see the inquisitor's mark be used to regenerate a limb. I wonder if it only works on the caster, and if Lucian's mark can do the same. Maybe Belcourt's mark is special. It might involve how he uses human souls for power, like demons do. Also, necromancy and golemancy both seem to involve the use of that grey magic. I wonder what that is? Pushing life into dead objects? Some kind of holy and dark fusion, or another special ability of Belcourt's? We saw that Belcourt's holy magic was pure white. Maybe he was using some trick to cast such a pure holy spell. Edit: Oh, and the way Belcourt was talking about the loyalty of the first emperor's servants was strange. How do you get every single major operative in a decentralized conspiracy to be both pathologically bound to the leader, and competent in their roles? No one involved is just an opportunist, looking for whoever can offer the most benifits?

Yea was hoping we'd finally see what's in the eye. Especially with the weekend coming up and it did seem kind of greedy looting the palace when whatever is in the eye should outweigh everything in the palace.

I like that Lucian didn’t immediately let his guard down around her

Would you rather be alone in the hells with a familicidal she wolf, or a bear? I definitely think Lucian's making the right call here. All signs point to betrayal, and he hasn't spent enough time with her for the stockholm synodrome to kick in yet. Only reason she hasn't yet revealed their location is because the second she does, Lucian runs out of reasons not to kill her. On the other side, this is kind of one of my favorite scenes. Two characters risking their lives in an extremely dangerous place, having to depend on eachother to survive. Although I've often seen it as more of a romance thing, rather than a horror suspense one.
