🕑 Added 2021-05-23 09:31:08 +0000 UTC(wall of text ahead, so TLDR; been sick, been subtly hinted to get out of the current apartment so me and the bro are hunting for a new one, we'll move out in the following months; my Patreon will be paused in both June and August, so you will NOT be charged a cent in during those months, you'll pay only for July and from September onwards -I suggest staying pledged until the end of June if you wanted to unsubscribe, so you get access to the discord rewards like my art wips and presales for free, even when Patreon is paused!- ; and lastly I'm deleting the $90 art tier for the time being, you have until the end of June to unsub/change your pledge or you'll be charged for nothing!)
Hello everyone! Sorry I've been so inactive lately, life just doesn't seem to give me a breather and I'm still having health issues...I think it may be also due to stress (as stuff like my heart issues and migraines are mainly stress-induced), but I'm doing what I can to get better ^^
Recently though, our landlord has been speaking to me and Jaiden (Rei/my brother; he's trying to move away from that old name) in a way that's not-so-subtly implying he wants for us to get out of the apartment and find another. Not sure why, as we'd always been quiet and polite, always in time with payments (if not even in advance at times), and keep the place well but whatever. It's been really stressing, and it's gotten to a point where we dread having to talk to him, in fear he may make another remark or flat out tell us to get out. Using the covid situation as an excuse he even didn't renovate our contract so....it's stressing. (it's half an year he stopped also using receipts to aknowledge our payments -he insists on cash on hand instead of bank transfers-, I had to buy a block of receipts myself for him to sign to have proof we're paying)
So me and Jai made the decision to move out, and actually buy our first home!
As most of you may remember, our father sadly passed away 2 years ago. He didn't leave a written will, and his siblings got his home and sold it (which has been a very stressful 2 years in general because we didn't want to make it a legal fuss out of father's death, so when they said they would lift from us the burden of taking care of the home selling it themselves, and giving all to us because they knew our dad wanted it that way, we didn't put up a fight).... They ended up giving us only less than 1/3 of the house's price a few months ago, and kept telling around how we werent "real" family and they gave us a "lil something" out of the kindness of their heart because they knew we "still meant a lot to their brother".
...so whatever, our being overly quiet and submissive kicked us in the nuts again, but the money is basically just barely enough to buy an apartment here in Turin, in the same nice neighbourhood we're in right now, and I have save enough money (thanks to all of you!) for any unexpected expense, the moving itself, and the furniture (the apartment we're in currently was already mostly furnished, so we need a new kitchen at least, other furniture is less urgent since we got a couch and a bed we can use to sleep until we get more stuff, and also got my desk plus a bookshelf and some organizers, so I could still draw/work as well)
As soon as my health got better a few days ago we started hunting for an apartment in our budget, and that in itself was exhausting...we don't have a car and ended up out of home from 9am to 7pm, stopping just half an hour to eat a burger, for a couple days;;; and since we're both pretty sickly (thalassaemia/anaemia in general always gets worse with the heat, and I have weak bones and muscle xP) walking 8km a day + all the bus travelling tires us out a lot ahah;;; which is why I haven't been online or working even tho I'm feeling better!
But!! We did manage to find a very nice apartment we like and we're currently in the process of making an offer for it! I'll let you guys know more as things progress, but please keep your fingers crossed for us, we'll know if our first offer has been accepted tomorrow ;w;9
Regardless of how things go with this apartment, we'll be moving out sometime in the following months in any case, and I still have a lot to catch up on (I realized only now it's been half an year already and I haven't had the chance to tackle any of my yearly resolutions/projects...it's saddening;;; ), so I decided to pause Patreon for June and I'll hopefully use the month to catch up on some things ---if my health allows it of course. In July you'll be charged for your tier as usual and get your rewards for it (if you have any base suggestions, shoot them my way!), but then in August me and Jai will make the yearly trip oversea to see my family, we'll stay around 10-14 days and I won't be drawing much, so Patreon will be paused again in August!
With the move and everything we would need the money more than ever, but knowing myself I will not be able to make the rewards in time, so I feel it's best this way. If I'm able to draw I'll open a few commissions or sell some adopts if I need, but I really hope the need won't arise and I'll be able to focus on catching up what I already owe, so I can move on to some personal projects and carry on with new commissions more smoothly.
So: June, you WON'T be charged, but I suggest staying pledged until the end of it (in case this was the last month you wanted to stay subbed), so you'll still have access to the Discord server, and to the content I'll still be posting there despite the pause, like art WIPs, presales, and the like, for free! If you unpledge right now you'll immediately lose access to your tier's role and access to certain channels, but if you prefer unpledging now if you fear forgetting to do so at the end of June I understand!
July: you'll be charged as usual, and I'll make the according rewards (bases and the monthly commission opening, art early access, wips and presales will be the same as in June/as always)
August: you WON'T be charged again, and again, I suggest you unpledge only at the end of this month to still get Discord access ^^
September: unsure to be honest. If all goes well, we should move around September-October (since June-July Jaiden has uni exams, and in August we're away + everything's closed), so I may have to pause Patreon again, but if my workload becomes significantly lighter during these months I'll probably be able to still have it up, or I may have to pause October instead. I'll let you know in August when I have a more clear view of how things are going!
Because of all the things going on, I have also decided to remove the $90/art tier; it was an experiment to bring it up again, to see if I could manage the workload but, at the moment, I can't. I still have to finish the rewards for April, and to got back to patrons for their May rewards info, so it's best if for the time being the tier is removed for good. While I'm super grateful for the continued support, I would rather keep having the monthly commission openings and give a chance to more people, but thank you so much for all the support so far, I'm truly humbled! ;w; The current pending rewards will be hopefully all finished within June, thanks for the patience T/////T
You have until the end of June to change or delete your pledge, otherwise in July you'll be charged for a non-existent tier! Sorry for this, and thanks again for the support so far ♥
I know I still have the premium base to release this month, and I just have to color it, so it should be ready by tonight/tomorrow; since it's late and next month it's paused, I will leave the download links for this month's bases available until the end of June, so you have more time to get them! (and, if there are new patrons during June despite the pause -since it happened the last time I paused Patreon-, that way they still get something ^^)
I will also probably try to move out from Patreon to Ko-fi when it comes to monthly subscriptions, since they're working with tier/Discord integration and I much prefer Ko-fi, but I'll let you know as the updates roll out and I figure things out! Patreon will still be an option of course, but my preference will lean towards Ko-fi.

Thank you thank youuu ♥ Yeah, I've been feeling off about the landlord since the beginning, with the whole not wanting bank transactions for the payments, being iffy about renovating our contract, the constant snide remarks aaaahh I'm scared to take such a big step and buy an apartment but super excited at the same time, it'll be so relieving having our own place <3333 Thank you! ♥
