{IMPORTANT!!} Changes coming soon to Patreon!
🕑 Added 2024-09-08 14:15:11 +0000 UTCHello guys! Here's an important update about what changes are coming to Patreon as a whole, and how it will affect my page and your billing!
(warning: long post, so a TLDR; is at the end of this, but I still encourage you to read everything since it's about something important!)
As you may already know, due to the Apple Store's stricter policies about in-app subscriptions, Patreon will be forced to switch to the subscription billing method (meaning you get billed on the day you subscribe, not on the first of the month as my Patreon is currently set to), and, more importantly, it will be subject to a 30% fee of the Apple Store (if you subscribe on a iOS system).

Because my page will be automatically switched to subscription billing in November, I've decided to manually switch myself next month (October) instead; I'll be honest, having my Patreon set to up-front charge was very handy because it was like having a "payday" and be able to settle my bills all at once, but the subscription method whould hopefully make it easier on you guys to actually get charged when you're more comfortable, so that's a plus! ^^
What's changing for you?
Starting next month, if you're a new Patron you will be charged every month on the day you have originally subscribed, rather than on the 1st; so if you subscribe on the 12th, you'll always be charged on the 12th each month!
To accomodate this change and make sure the monthly base rewards will be sent to all those who have been already charged, from October onwards all outfit/base rewards will be sent to you via DM on the LAST day of the month!
Image previews may be published earlier to show off what you're getting that specific month, but the download link itself will be sent to all active subscribers only on the last day of the month (again, to make sure everyone has been correctly charged and able to access the reward).
I'm really sorry about this change, because it means that in cases I finish the reward/s earlier you won't be able to use them early, but sending individual messages to each of you on the day of your subscription renewal would take way too much time (considering there's currently 90-ish of you, thank you so much!!), so I hope you can understand ;A;
Regarding Patreon's fees:
Patreon already has quite high fees, both for me as a creator and also to you as a supporter, which is why I've always considered a switch to Ko-Fi as a support platform, but never did due to its subscription billing style; well, since now Patreon is switching to subscription billing anyways, I've decided to go ahead and import all my support tiers to Ko-Fi as well!
I highly recommend you from now on to support me on Ko-Fi instead: https://ko-fi.com/desi/tiers
This way you should pay 0% extra fees, unlike Patreon (from my experience at least; if I support someone at the €5 tier I pay exactly €5, not €5 + tax; this is especially important if you're on iOS due to the huge 30% fee!), and you also help supporting me more because all the money goes directly to me (at exception of course of Paypal's fees), without any platform fees like Patreon does!
Ko-Fi also has Discord integration, where most of my content is posted anyways, so little to nothing will change for you by subscribing there instead of here ---you'll basically just be saving money!
Just be mindful to either switch next month, making sure you have unsubscribed from my Patreon before the end of September, to avoid double charges, OR message me if you plan to already switch this month (thank you so much!!), so that I can refund you your Patreon payment after your Ko-Fi subscription has been confirmed, again to avoid double charges ^^
(if you're a €50 tier Patron please keep an eye on your DMs!! I will be messaging you about the switch later this month, so I can do my best to make sure you still have your current spot when transferring to Ko-Fi!)
My Patreon will still be active as usual! Even if I'm encouraging the migration to Ko-Fi, I know Patreon is still the most popular choice and it may be what's most comfortable for many users, so nothing will change if you decide to keep supporting me here!
Only exception will be the €50 tier, which will be discontinued from Patreon and be made Ko-Fi only starting from next month!

Hi Desi! I'm going to cancel my Patreon closer to the end of the month and then subscribe to Ko-fi at the beginning of next month to start fresh. That way you don't have to worry about a refund AND it'll help with your bills at the start of the month! I'll send you a DM on there when I officially switch over so you can keep track <3

Ah~ Okay, so I'll make sure to get myself set up on the 1st, then. I find it a lot easier to manage (and remember lol) when it's the 1st of every month. As much as I would love to get the difference in the cost back between here and Ko-fi, it will just be easier for both of us for me to just cancel here at the end of this month and subscribe on the first of next month :3 I will definitely be continuing my support I can 💜 (And saving some money in the process for BOTH of us is a win/win XD)

No problem, that's a mood lmao Ko-Fi charges only like Patreon's new method: you get always get charged on the day you first sub (ie. you sub on the 7th, you always get charged on the 7th). Not having a set "payday" is the reason why I haven't switched to KoFi earlier (that and the fact I can't pause subscriptions, so I'll just trudge through every month x,D), but honestly, it's a minor nuisance it's still worth taking ahah I know, Patreon's fees are ridiculous indeed! They take from my earnings almost 20% between platform fees, processing fees and conversion fees (since most supporters use USD or GBP), so compared to Kofi's 0% for both you AND me it's honestly a deal! If you want you can switch right now, you can do that and I'll refund your Patreon subscription! That way you'll pay just for the Kofi one (and save also a couple bucks for this month's rewards) ^^ Thank you so much for being willing to keep supporting me, it means a lot! ;w; ♥

I read the whole thing, but I also just woke up so I may have missed it (lol): Does Ko-fi charge similarly to how Patreon HAD been charging (on the 1st of the month instead of whenever you subbed)? That is in no way a deal-breaker for me, as Patreon's fees have gotten RIDICULOUS (I pay over $18 for the $15 tier and have for a few months now) and I'm more than happy to switch to Ko-fi-- just curious about how their billing works as I've never used it in this context. I'll need to set myself a reminder to unsub to you here and sub to you over there 💜
