That's fair. Though admittedly, rather than full Furry, what I had in mind was a bit closer to, say, that old 90's-era cartoon series "SWAT Kats". (The female characters, anyway, where the cat features are much less in-your-face than with the males.)

What if you went a bit further, this time, and made this one as much "cat" as "girl"? Digitigrade legs, actual clawed paw-hands, light fur all over her body (such that it could be mistaken for a tan), head reshaped just a bit to have a slight muzzle and no human ears, that sort of thing.

I was thinking maybe she goes to get help (maybe from her girlfriend or best friend) and gets upset with them because they keep calling her cute and asking if they can pet her new ears. So she's really grumpy that they're not helping, but they manage to start petting her anyway, and she's so shocked by how good it feels that she starts nuzzling up to them and asking for more! I think it would be quite sweet for her to feel safe and comfortable around them once they start doing that
