This week's breed was suggested by Ellen Fox! Thanks Ellen. These nearly extinct breeds are always so neat to learn about. And with only a handful of breeds left on my list, I'm excited to make guides for actually extinct breeds afterwards! But these guys were spared from such a fate. Have you ever met one? I wonder if I will someday!

No Iโm not sure Iโve seen one but I have seen a hound and I have also seen an otter.

There was one of these boys in our puppy training class. The owner just casually mentioned he was an otterhound, leaving it to us to Google it later and come back the next week and fawn all over his rarified presence. Despite his special breed, he was an average student and didnโt even show up for graduation. ๐

They're not quiiite as rare in my neck of the woods, (northern UK) bc I see a couple of them on the regular. They're extremely Hound. You know how an American coonhound or cur is? Yeah, except more hairy and overly excited about water. I usually see them down the canal and they're always like 'THERES WATER RIGHT THERE Y AM NOT SWEM AM SAD DAD :(' Gods bless them.
