Yeah 🥺 I really loved him but I’m stretched very thin money wise as it is, and I already dedicate almost all of my free time to my current pets, parrots need soooo much attention it wouldn’t be fair!

The way they stare at birds outside the window is enough for me to say absolutely not. I’m sure Salad snatched her fair share when she was a starving street cat! I wouldn’t wanna be a little bird in that kind of environment. 😭

Thank you so much for helping him out!!! I think it's a great decision not to keep him. I have my own bird and have roomed with two different roommates with cats and the utter anxiety having my Kiwi around the cats was too much, even if she and the cat were constantly supervised. It only takes one time for an accident to happen!

No worries I feel like it would go the same way with me if I chose to keep him! I love birds, but have never even really been around pet parrots, and I’ve already got my hands full with three animals. Don’t blame yourself too much, you saved her life! It made me sad looking for missing posters, I only saw parrots being found but couldn’t find hardly anyone looking for their lost birds. 😢

Birds require a lot of balanced care too! So I don't blame you for plenty of reasons. My family rescued a loose parakeet many years ago. Her wings had barely grown enough from being clipped to fly. But no one responded. She was found in the cold and we weren't sure she'd make it after that but fortunately she did! Lots of vitamin deficiencies though and she was frightened by a lot of things so the poor thing had been through an ordeal. She lived longer than we expected but she unfortunately had a lot of irreversible damage from her previous poor diet. I still feel bad and wonder if a far more experienced owner could have gotten her in better shape faster. Sorry for the sad story but I hope Sprite finds a good home with lots of love and care!
