I agree! I like 86 just as much as i like Frieren, both series have insanely good moments, that i cant really compare them, they got totally different vibe for whats happening in them aswell. I remember Teccy mentioning dropping Vinland Saga multiple times before he finished it, so we know he can be harsh at the start of a show he's not invested in :D So i think watching something that also tries to make you care about the characters just like in frieren, has a lot of dialogue that matters, could just end up in him not enjoying it, cuz its not as peak as frieren. We should just let him watch some shounen type show first jjk, solo, etc

Its a great anime and when going by MAL scores, it has a pretty good rating but is not as popular as the votes here suggest. Its more of a dramatic/emotional kind of show and not as hype/action focused as solo leveling for example. The only reason its winning so clearly, is that this poll got mentioned on the 86 subreddit. With that being said, its my personal favorite on this list, so no complains.

Frieren plays in its own league, 86 is nowhere near this Level. First season will be enjoable somewhat. Second Season will be boring. The characters are also boring. Shin and lena are the only ones you care about like literally. In the end its just my opinion but for me 86 feels like i would read a book but i dont need to see how other people literally read that book. Its cool to talk afterwards about it but thats it. There are so many more Anime that would be giving a better reaction experience its insane. Tectone will probably Like that anime but he will be disappointed at the same time about how people hyped this Anime and what it will be in the end. Same shit with made in abyss, boring as hell. But yeah its just my opinion you dont have to agree

I would ASSUME he’ll watch 3 episodes of 1 one day then 3 of another the next. Personally I think he should watch 1 Anime at a time and use this singular pole to determine the watch order. That would be the easiest way and also way more engaging as a viewer. Seeing as some people might just straight up abandon stream on days he watches an anime they don’t like. Doing 3 anime’s at once’s makes it much more likely to have people drop off.

Its not a hot take, it is LOL. Its literally one of the first big manhwas that made manhwas popular, and then 20020202 manhwas were made, and the whole youtube started getting filled with shorts of manhwa amvs. Its still enjoyable watch thou, if everything was heavy dialogue, plot twists, 8 episode character fleshoughts, anime wouldnt be as popular RN (would be more niche still). I still think is a good watch for the stream, cuz we can watch the abridged after that :) TLDR: a lot of the manhwa that was made after it , is several times better than solo leveling, in like 1/4 of the chapters of solo leveling, so yeah overrated

I already commented about this, but 86 is massively overhyped by zoomers who think because of death, it makes an anime mature and good. I will say the first season is an 8.5/10, second season is slop, and all light novel readers agree it's easily the worst season

@Omar Oh yeah definitely, I've watched it. My issue lies more on stream watchability. I'm all in for narrative driven stories. But my issue is the pacing lol. I feel the same way about apothecary diaries. Apothecary is my fave out of all of these but i just know its pacing and episodic nature would be a bad stream watch so I didn't vote for it. But we'll see. 86 is winning anyways. Maybe I'm just pessimistic
