I mean, if you really need to you can go faster. Right click the event, go to Insert/Remove envelope, choose velocity. This can accelerate up to 300%. Hold CTRL and stretch the video to its maximum. This will give you x3x4 speed, so 12x speed. Edit: I hear you can also make a sped up event into its own project, then make another project, drop the event in and speed it up again, all without actually rendering it. Repeat until you reach desired speed, or the video exceeds hyperspace and goes into Plaid, then render.
