This episode feels like the perfect bridge to the last part of the season. Bringing Charlie back into day to day life and how to manage social situations while progressing the other storylines along side that dynamic.

There are a lot of things about this episode I really like. I like that it begins and ends with Tori, and there’s a shift in her at the end from melancholy to potential happiness after she has seen, if not necessarily met, Michael Holden. I like how really wonderful Nick is in making Charlie’s Christmas a happier one (that was one of the things in the This Winter novella that made it special to me). Even though we don’t see nearly as much of the other characters in this episode, I like the way we see growth in all of them through short vignettes. I like the way different characters find someone they can talk to about what they’re going through at the New Year’s Eve party, especially Elle and Darcy. And this isn’t just this episode: I like the way in this season we see how much Tao has matured. After a few emotionally devastating episodes, this one really ends on a positive note, and maybe I like that most of all.
