freeCodeCamp is building a free Bachelor of Computer Science University Degree
🕑 Added 2022-11-30 21:03:35 +0000 UTCYou may have heard that our charity is building a free Bachelor of Computer Science university degree. We started developing this in 2021, and most likely it will take several more years to complete.
If you want to learn more about it, I (Quincy) published an in-depth overview of the 40 free university courses this degree will likely include.
Each of these courses will include 20 or more hours of video lectures, dozens of hours of interactive labs, and a final exam.

What are the plans in terms of milestones and dates planned ahead on the BsCS? Wonder if I could take this in near future like 1or2 years from now. Second, can I already take first courses to advance on the BsCS?

We're making slow but steady progress toward this. The first university course is done, and we will publish the second in a few weeks. We're focusing on engineering mathematics first.

Thank you! I am very excited to find this information. I have an AS in Engineering and had to stop school and go back to work. This may help me work toward my goals in life.

Don't know what I'm doing: too old for this, but was always curious - now I want my kids to enjoy something creative like this: maybe I'll keep pushing on first. At the moment it's fun and challenging.

Thanks for the free service! I am quite poor, but I could give at least a little bit to you! Whereas Codecademy pretty much demanded annual payments otherwise the fee was way higher suddenly. x_x; Which made me look for alternatives.
