The big departure (And overall plan)!

It is time to detail my departure coming up. I will be traveling with my father to a hospital so that he can get a bone marrow transplant. It is an outpatient procedure, but, since we are going to be several hours from home, we must stay near the hospital at a hotel or home designated for such procedures.
We depart on the 28th if all things stay as they are now. Dad's gonna get a week of chemo, then the transplant proper, and that's when the 100 days actually starts. I expect to be gone about 110-115 days from home as a result. I am his primary caregiver and will be the only one capable of taking care of him should he need physical help.

What will that mean for art?
I don't expect to be very productive for the first 30-40 days. Those will be the hardest days for Dad and as a result I will need to be extra vigilant and aware so I can help him. My schedule will be lined up with his and as a result I expect canvas time to be minimal at best.
In addition: It's gonna be awkward to be SammyUpvotes while sharing a room with my father for such a long time. I can't really be drawing what I draw if he has the ability to see my screen at all times. What is there to do, then?

I got a plan.
Become a student of art the whole time. I'm gathering resources right now and will do my best to adhere to a studying regiment when I can to brush up some skills, expand skills, and start myself back on a path of growing as an artist. I'd love to improve my natural anatomy skills, my backgrounds (Goodness yes), and start playing around with my style more with new painting techniques.
I'll be developing a SFW OC soon to 'help' me with this. Perhaps she's SFW on the surface at least! Wink.
If anything changes, I'll update this accordingly and let everyone know. It has changed before but this is now the closest we've gotten and I feel confident that this is the one. It's happening.

The only pressure I let myself feel is the metaphorical idea of a large lady sitting on me. I appreciate it, regardless! I'll keep patreon and places in the loop if I know for certain that no work will get done. I'll probably know within the first day based on how I can setup my desk lol.

Thank you! I'll do my best!! On-demand won't be fully cut off. I may just up my filters while I'm with my Dad. It won't result in higher cost requests but rather it'll result in lower chance of acceptance.

I really do wish you and your dad the best in the coming months! And I am looking forward to seeing sfw Sammy art during your practices! I did consider one question though that might be worth answering for everyone: Are you going to temporarily cut off on demand comms during your time away, and if so when is the latest that one can be submitted before you leave?

You and your dad come first. This is a difficult time for you so it would be completely understandable if you didn't draw or post anything for a while. I'll be happy to see anything you're able to do given the circumstances- but I'm trying to not pressure you lol

Sounds like a good plan to make the best of a tough situation! Take as much time as you need to take care of your dad, everything else can wait. If you manage to spare the time to share some of your studies with us, that'd be a nice little bonus.

Not having no new curvy lady drawings for a while is a sacrifice I'm willing to make considering all thats going on. I wish your dad all the best- and hey if you can post some more traditional SFW stuff thats just a bonus to me. ^_^
