This is how I enjoy smooth gameplay and keep all my beloved CC safe. π
I have over 30 GB of CC and mods β and my game still runs like a dream. Here's my simple but genius method:
πΈ 1. Create a "Clean Game" Setup
πΉ Start a new save in The Sims 4.
πΉ Place only your main characters in it for Story (like me, KD, Ryuga, etc.).
πΉ Use just your essential and stable mods (like Wicked Whims,MCCC, UI Cheats, TOOL, etc.).
πΉ Leave all other CC out of your Mods folder β this keeps the game clean and fast.
πΈ 2. Save Your Sims with Tray Importer!
π§ββοΈ Important: If your Sims use CC, always back them up with the Tray Importer before removing your CC.
β Otherwise, they might load incorrectly or appear broken without their custom content!
Tray Importer - DOWNLOAD
Tray Import allows you to save your Sims/families with CC outside of the EA Gallery. I've been using this tool since the beginning and still have all the families that are no longer in my game.
π Move your extra CC into a separate folder on your hard drive (e.g., βCC Backupβ) so itβs safely stored.

πΈ 3. Add CC Only When You Need It
πΉ Want to create a new Sim or give someone a makeover?
β‘οΈ Just drop your 30 GB CC back into the Mods folder temporarily.
β‘οΈ Load the game, do what you need in CAS or live mode.
β‘οΈ Then: remove the CC again β and go back to your light, smooth gameplay!

Well, for me it's more practical because I only restyle or create my Sims when I want to show my animation, pose, etc. I don't need that many CC's to play. π

Sorry, I forgot about the Tray Importer, you have to save your family / Sim in the library and then save it with Tray Importer + CC , the download link is in the description π

How do you play with the cc you've used if you remove it? Or are you leaving in what you used & removing the rest?

How I to it too lol π mostly cause it drives me made when your trying to find something in game and searching for hours π€¦πΌββοΈ I my folders saved as kids, infants, children, wedding pack and restaurants extra. So when I want to use one Iβll pop it back in mods
