The lap itself is based on robrenz's design; its expanded by a taper inside, and locked rotationally by the little collar. The shaft is driven between centres on a lathe, and will hopefully let me achieve some very nice bearing fits for the new lathe spindle. It's probably not going to get its own video, as I'm not sure there's a broad appeal for this level of machine-geekiness, but I am considering doing an overview and demo for you guys here on patreon, and of course plans to go with it, so let me know if that interests you!

For sure! He's been around for a long time though. Hoping to make this full time in short order though, so I think I've gotta think about a broader audience. That's one of the reasons I like the idea of patreon too, I can make stuff without worrying about pleasing the almighty algorithm.

"broad appeal for this level of machine-geekiness". Probably not, but it works for Abom79
