I think you might be talking about Alex & Aleksa, they run the channel 'Boy Boy' together, and Alex is behind the channel 'I did a thing'. They've both been really successful on the platform, and seeing that they could do it made me think I'd be an idiot to not try. I'd encourage anyone to give it a go; I never expected this level of success for myself. And I I can do it, and Alex and Aleksa can do it, anyone can! That's not to say it's easy, just accessible. I've worked more in the last year and a half than I ever have! You're definitely on the right track with starting off with a hook - just make sure you back it up with the story telling. And you've probably heard it a thousand times, but title and thumbnail, title and thumbnail, title and thumbnail. Also, take everything I've said with a grain of salt, I'm still very new to the whole thing myself!

Not an Engineer- I notice people reference a friend or colleague with a YouTube channel. He makes occasional appearances in your videos. Is he successful? Has his success encouraged you to start your channel? I am considering starting a channel myself with less ambitious goals. I have some equipment I purchased, which may be a good hook. Once I get my machine set up, I would love to collaborate. I am open to suggestions. Of course, I need an audience first, so I have something to offer. PM me and I’ll tell you about the crazy machines I have. As a teaser, let's just say they require around 1000 Amps @ 220 Volt 3-phase and a warehouse space.

“We do these things not because they are easy, but because we thought they would be!” - Superfast Matt on YT 😂 Mechatronics is heaps of fun but you went from zero to 100 with this project mate.

That first picture would make a banger of a thumbnail!
