I think it would be kinda sus as well for Light to not react at all to news of 1500 people sent to look for Kira. As you said the news was meant to get a reaction out of potential Kira, Light. But I think most normal people would at least react somewhat surprised at hearing news of 1500 people sent to investigate someone, even someone like Kira, that is unless they are just completely disinterested in the subject or distracted. I think Light's sister's reaction was about the most natural reaction to the news. Light's reaction was definitely pretty sus but I think showing total disinterest would look suspicious to someone like L as well. I can't say I know what I would do as Light there, as I am generally really bad at hiding my emotions. I think I would show surprise to the news, again, like most people probably would. But just what level of surprise you show would make a difference in terms of how sus it would look. Light is too smart to believe the 1500 cops news but he definitely went too far with the things he said. It probably was his pride acting up a little bit there. Which might have been L's point after all as he is very certain that Kira is a prideful person. So my point was that Light was definitely sus there, but that showing no reaction at all would draw suspicion as well imo.

You just said it yourself, if L did indeed gain back his memories of being a death note user when he touches the notebook for the first time, then that would mean that he had lost his memories, Which would mean that all these hints that you're talking about shouldn't exist, because again, he shouldn't have those memories. Yes L basically knew very early on that Light was kira, and no this is not a secret that 99% of watchers don't realize. Yes, L's mission was to prove Light is kira, which again wouldn't make sense if he was indeed a death note user because then he wouldn't have to go through the cat and mouse game. He *very* clearly doesn't understand how kiras power works because when he detains light for like a month, he eventually let's him out because he didn't understand what was going on. So no, he couldn't have just turned light in at any time.. That's ridiculous Lastly, probably the most ridiclous point you had, when you say that L gets a shitload of memories back when he touches the notebook, is this some made up memory of yours lol? Because when he touches a death note for the first time nothing happens to him, then he looks at the shinigami and says "a shinigami...so they... really do exist" then he remembers all the messages between first kira and second kira that referenced notebooks and shinigami and deduces that there are 2 notebooks. (something Mello and Near also immediately deduced, so it's not like L was the only one to realize this either.) What you described never happens

yeah I literally lightly refer to this in my post, when L gets hold of the death note he gets a shitload of memories and thoughts in his head just like Light does once he regains the notebook I just didn't write all of this out. L then immediately says "wow a shinigami i knew they existed but there must be multiple in fact there must be multiple notebooks" this clearly shows L somehow used to know about the notebooks and shinigami's. The show constantly shows you evidence that L was once a death note user to some degree. The only reason he never confronts Light about it is because he has no tangible evidence to prove that Light is Kira, the entire show is about L proving Light is Kira, L already knows by legit episode 4 that Light is Kira. The show is a cat and mouse game where L and Light both enjoy the thrill of playing the game, evidence of this is literally that L could at any time turn Light in but he turns a blind eye to all the death and destruction because he enjoys the cat and mouse game. Like 99% of readers/watchers don't ever realize that L figured it out almost immediately.

I always thought Light not reacting to the tv announcement would've been the most suspicious choice because the obvious thing people do when they're 'guilty' is pretend they don't know anything and don't care. Everyone knows how smart Light is, and that he's been involved in police work before, so the most natural thing for him to do would be to say his genuine thoughts on the matter. That's exactly what an innocent Light would do, and is why he did it. The police broadcasting that they're bringing in 1500 people is pretty sus, and people with experience from the police would see right through it, and know what's up. The fact that he points this out is again the most natural choice, and if he didn't, it'd seem like he's hiding something and holding back. Although you can definitely make the argument that he only said this to taunt L as well

SPOILERS FOR GEK BOYS DONT READ It is heavily implied that L was also once a death note user. Whether or not he murdered people to the extent Light does is unknown, however based on how quickly he understands the rules of the death note and how it works its very strange considering hes “never had a death note”. (If you lose or get rid of the death note you eventually forget about it) Later on in the show there is a very specific scene that occurs and it directly shows us that he was/is a death note user. (Upon seeing the shinigami he states he knew they exist but not that there are so many of them). He also goes on to understand how the death note is a gift given to others and not something one obtains through a contract/agreeing to it. He also acts very strange around Light upon seeing the shinigami because of Lights reaction to seeing the shinigami (screaming wildly) however we never get a reaction like that from L he is all too familiar and calm about seeing a literal demon. Its implied that L used his deathnote for “good” and then later threw it away this is why he is so strange compared to everyone else, we also see Light become “stranger” compared to others as well. He becomes almost lifeless and begins to sit weirder and no longer retains his innocent demenor the longer he holds on to the death note. Almost like he is becoming more and more like L its very interesting to see his character change over time its very small in detail but it is there. Sorry for the long post but this theory goes very deep and has been circulating for years so im sure there is more evidence but i dont wanna right an essay lmao.
