You’re probably following a scam account. His last tweet was in May 2022 (https://twitter.com/Un4v5s8bgsVk9Xp). Back then he was writing 10 chapters and those were indeed published already. Since then there has been no update on more chapters. A lot of people masquerade as mangaka on Twitter, I’d be wary who to believe.

the reason the manga probably won't be finished in our lifetime is because the author has some illnesses. after the final ep of season 6 aired, the entire series went on hiatus for years because of his illness and didn't start back up again until recently (within the last year i think). idk what the actual illness or whatever is but i know it's really serious so unfortunately the manga will probably go unfinished.

I don't think you've been watching the show if you think a man starting over as an infant is where the problem is. Oshi no Ko has the same thing and no one has a problem recommending that show. There's a very significant key difference between main characters.

I feel maybe Killua is a little misunderstood his family kills people and he is very aware of it and even stabbed his own mother and brother so I think killing isn't really him being evil as much as a regular part of his life that he is desensitized too.

first half of AOT season 3 made me drop it for a year or two, and after Gabi killed you know who beginning of season 4, I dropped AOT altogether. So far HxH didn't have any noticeable low for me. AOT does have some incredibly hype moments tho.

HxH and Mushoku Tensei (they're not ready for this.... probably never will be) are probably the 2 most unpredictable series I've watched (in Mushoku Tensei's case I've also read it.)

Pace is less of a problem for me compared to other things like having hope/comedy to balance out the tragedy in stories. I mean, One Piece is one of my fav anime of all time. AOT is a depressing anime with some hope/comedy early on but over the seasons killed it off, in some cases literally, thanks Gabi! A really good story needs a balance between hope/comedy and tragedy. Even Game of Thrones, known for its brutality, balances it out with Tyrion's character.

Not saying that they weren’t; I believe it was 100% intentional. What I meant was that (I believe) Togashi had very different inspirations for each arc as he was writing them at different points in his life (over a 25 year period now). I think the story would have been different (i.e. tone, themes etc.) if he had been continuously writing the story.

I feel like there are two types of HxH fans: those who were hooked from Episode 1 and those who were hooked from the next major arc. As other comments have mentioned, the manga is notorious for being on hiatus (Hiatus x Hiatus 😭). To put things in perspective, One Piece was serialised in July 1997 and HxH in March 1998 — less than a year apart. At the time, One piece had 29 more chapters than HxH. Now, there is a 690 difference. Because the story was written between breaks and over a long period of time, you will notice major tonal shifts as the story progresses. A lot of people say that the genre changes with each arc.

3 year hiatus. He wrote 20 chapters in 2018 then came back towards the end of 2022, then went on hiatus after 10 chapters (391-400). You can be a bit nicer calling people out, it’s hard getting facts straight sometimes (in your case too).

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but ep 13 is kind of just a recap episode so it can be skipped. You can watch maybe the first 2mins and last 1 minute for context but otherwise there are no new scenes

Mckay took that informaiton about the anime off his ass honestly. There is nothing about a new season of HxH coming. They do have some content on the source material to adapt some 25 episodes or so though. And regarding the manga, The author has a permanent injury on his back that prevents him from writing it. The manga came back a few months ago after a 5 year hiatus but it wen on hiatus again after 5 chapters. Jump was considering canceling the series. Thats why we say its never gonna end. At this rate the author is literally gonna die before finishing it. And the story is nowhere near a possible excuse of an ending. Like, even if he rushes he cant finish the story in the next 100 chapters. He would need more to tie all the plots and stuff.

The anime does provide a pretty decent ending but it doesn't resolve a lot of arcs and it doesn't delve deep into the lore of the world and why there are creatures and weird races everywhere. The manga is just getting there, but it may be an unfortunate case where we'll never see the full scope of the narrative through unless he hands it down to his wife.

To put it simply, the anime ends at a very good point, however the manga takes the story further beyond episode 148. So even if you just watch the 148 episodes, that is a very good ending point. As someone already mentioned, since the manga has undergone hiatus many times, we fear that the story (beyond the anime) may never finish! The current arc in the manga is so complex that is going to take a while to finish.

So happy to see Cannon is already hyped, coz so did I when I saw it the first time at this point! Hunter x Hunter is so unpredictable, and this show only gets more creative and creative. I always love seeing those genius writers thinking/creativity through manga and anime, especially Togashi and Isayama（AOT）.

I think the hiatus is primarily due to his back problem of course, but also the fact HxH’s story is super complex. I don’t think he can write the current arc week to week. At a certain point HxH became super complicated for a shounen, makes sense he needs time to think it all through. The Succession War of HxH for example is the literal equivalent of a Game of Thrones in anime, so many factions and people vying for the throne, while a ton of subplots go on.

Togashi (the Manga Author) has been having really bad Health issues for years now, to the point where he can hardly write and continue the manga, so the moments he can he does a good little chunk then goes on a really long hiatus. his wife is the author for Sailor moon (which is a classic anime) im thinking if he ever gets to a point to where he cant write or anything then he will let his wife finish it but we will see. its really sad Tbh.

HunterxHunter is infamous for having very long hiatuses between chapters from a certain point in the early 2000's (before that it was somewhat consistently scheduled, it began publishing in 1998). This is due to the health issues of its creator Yoshihiro Togashi, specifically his back problems. He even mentioned it's hard for him to draw for prolonged periods of time. Now you might think that the hiatuses are excessive but you need to understand that the grind for manga creators is brutal what with extreme crunch time where they have to deliver weekly. People used to meme about it being HiatusxHiatus but after Berserk's creator Kentauro Miura died recently because of health issues people began to take these things more seriously. Now the manga is ongoing but the 2011 anime provides a pretty good ending point. Togashi himself has stated that the story somewhat ends where the anime ends but that he wanted to expand further on the story. Also, some character arcs are still unfinished so the continuation of the manga is very much needed. People say the manga will never finish because we get few chapters every few years and because Togashi's writing is very detailed and meticulous but hey that's what makes this series so goated. Last year unexpectedly Togashi made a Twitter account and tweeted a picture of a tree he painted, signalling the continuation of the manga. You have to understand that at this point the manga had been on hiatus since 2018 and people really actually gave up on it ever finishing. The tweet quickly garnered 1 million likes(!) and was trending for days. People actually couldn't believe it. This shows the impact of his work and how much everyone loves it. We got 10 more chapter with some of the most impactful story beats. As for now, Togashi is working with his editors to create a schedule to better fit him so that he can continue the story but due to his health it's still unclear. All we can wish is for Togashi's health to improve so honestly the manga can wait. What is important is his health.
