That All might scene wasn’t for nothing tho, it seems that you forgot that black flash increases your normal hits to be the power of your CE hits. Not only that but as the show told you right afterward Todo unlocked 120% of his potential because of the black flash.

Basically Nobara’s technique Resonance allows her to target any part of an opponent &, with Mahito, that includes the soul. When she hammered the nail into his forehead she was using his body double as an effigy to attack his soul. That’s why the Mahito fighting Yuji was damaged too.

It’s not a new concept because they do hire interns or part-timers. My friend was 17 or 18 years old when the studio that helped with the animation of Slam Dunk, hired him. There are lots of talented new animators but it was recently mentioned that there won’t be enough to meet demands in the future. Old animators are retiring fast but couldn’t be replaced just as quickly. Can you imagine? 😔

I think this was my favorite episode so far. I really didn’t like the art style they were going with for some of the middle episodes but it really shined in the latest ones. And the voice acting for Yuji and Mahito has been sick! Really hype for the rest of the season now.

In manga when Mahito lands his black flash the narrator said "The sparks of black do not choose who to bless" when I read that, I felt hopeless and I thought they were going to include it here since they didn't I'm sharing. I want to focus right now on the voice acting, specially to Shimazaki Nobunaga, Mahito's va and Enoki Junya Yuji's va, they are doing gods work with their performance, specially in this episode!! I have the same reaction as Jack when I saw Mahito landed that blackflash even though I have read the manga. Todo with the Goat entrance and speech to Yuji, ending the episode with the greatest looking black flash in history. Mahito's insanity thru out the whole episode. Yuji's breakdown and recovery by shouldering Nanami's weight. The voice acting(especially Mahito and Yuji), the visuals and the direction are so well crafted. It's definitely my top 3 if not top 1 Shibuya episode so far.

I can say this with confidence but Aoi Todo is the strongest Grade 1 sorcerer... in title. The only other Grade 1 sorcerers stronger than him would be the clan leaders and higher members of the Zenin and Kamo clan. They don't like having the title of Grade 1 and be lumped in with others so they made their own unofficial title of Special Grade 1. He's probably stronger than a few of their members but definitely not stronger than the clan leaders.

Yuji and Todo are so good together because Yuji trusts him completely. Otherwise Todo couldn’t use his ability to its fullest. I love that relationship. I cried when Todo gave Yuji that pep talk in the manga. Yuji needed that so much. I hadn’t thought about what Cannon mentioned about the difference in AoT and JJK fans it’s interesting.

Loved the monologue mahito had in the beginning, basically explaining the stakes of this entire incident. Liked that they clarified what kyoto is doing. But other than mechamaru caring for the other students and utahime, i dont understand why only todo and the first year went. Like obviously the second years dont need to be there cause they couldnt even keep up with maki, but kamo was at least a second grade, utahime is a semi first, and the broomstick girl couldve helped with crowd control like inumaki had been doing. But overall great episode

Oh btw black flash isn't a technique, it's just a really strong hit of curse energy that is insanely difficult to do. Both humans and curses can do it and once you do it even once, you enter the zone. So yuji, todo and mahito are all fighting at their peak performance after doing black flashes.

If this was a book we would call it "unreliable narrator", meaning that you cant trust everything everyone says and take it as truth to the reader, only what you've seen with your own eyes. Thats all i'll say in regards to Kugisaki. And Hail my boy Mahito, before i forget

I thought it was clear but it seems its not. Only Itadori Yuji can hit Mahito's soul as we've seen in season 1. Him and recently discovered Kugisaki but she died. Thats why Mahito is hard to kill, and thats why Yuji is his natural enemy. Todo can Black Flash him till Christmas, it doesn affect his soul and he will be just fine.
