I don't get the hate on Palm. She is definitely one of the most interesting characters so far. More interesting than Kurapika, Gon or Leorio. Also Carter's favorite character so far has been Hisoka right. I think Hisoka is way worse.

this arc, and literally every arc since, has me convinced that togashi should just release light novels to tell this story. then he can release the chapters at the pace without taking a toll on his health

Pls don't read if you don't want to get spoiled**** This whole arc is a mess. I haven't seen it originally and I recently just watched it (couldn't wait for the guys so I watched it). I have previously only seen the show until York New arc. So here's my say: the narrator sucks - spoiled the whole arc for me. Although the last 2 episodes of the arc were okay. That's my opinion.

I also saw the thumb-kissing thing in a recent Korean drama I was watching with my girlfriend. I wonder if it's a korean thing that Togashi took inspiration from, or if it actually was a little wink to HxH. Or maybe there's another show that both those series took inspiration from, who knows lol.

The palm stuff is weird but is minor compared to the greatness of this arc. It doesn’t go too far, many anime are much worse is this respect lol . The slower pacing is worth the payoff of the overarching story.

i think they were catching up to the manga around this arc and had no choice but to stretch for more manga content to drop but this arc is probably best binged

Im talking about how certain parts of episodes dont need to exsist and in turn that time spent adds up to episodes of time. Like the “10 seconds have past” scene and other parts. Dont get me wrong like I said this is my favorite anime and my second favorite show of all time (right behind ATLA) I just think the pacing is kinda meh at some parts. Still a 10/10 arc tho!

This is where the series runs into pacing issues and inner monologue/narration takes up so much time in the episodes. Honestly if this show wasn't made back in 2011 there wouldn't be a problem, back in this era everything was animated weekly and not in groups or seasons. There is a lot of time padding which sucks cause the manga doesn't have these issues. Still my favorite anime ever but man do I wish it didn't rely on time padding. Also once this part is over it goes back to peak! Just trust the process! There's about 20 episodes in this arc that legit don't need to exsist and we have gotten through like 8 of them already but its whatever, stay strong fellas!

The Killua inner monologue is definitely way too long. That’s the one problem with this arc—that sort of thing happens a lot

if the association sends dozens of Hunters that are not fir for the mission they will end up being food to the ants and making them stronger. Killua understood that they only need specific Hunters to deal with the stiruation swiftly. Sending an army would backfire. Imagine the queen eating a bunch o Nen users...

Carter, Killua was basically explaining Gon's power that's actually versatile and thought it was just "basic" and easy to read, but then Gon acted on it. As he fights Knuckle that he can do fake-outs, double jajanken, use rock-paper-scizzor randomly to confuse enemy. Just like Hisoka we thought that it's just one string putting into the other, but its actually more complicated than that, when you get caught there is more-likely no escaping the bungeegum either counter Hisoka headon or get pulled or stuck by it.

I guess (or rather hope) togashi uses palm as an example that there are many fucked up people out there and that woman can be just as SUS as men but tragically, they get away with it way more often, even tho this is just as wrong.
