Konrad2

Healing came from Suzette and Rolly joined him in carving up the boss, -> Healing came from Suzette, and Rolly joined him in carving up the boss,

Konrad2

little caution, it turtle was killed and dragged -> little caution, the turtles were killed one by one and dragged (The next sentence talks about the nine shells, with no comment that the turtles went down after the first two turtles)

Konrad2

Suzette laughed when he called dibs on two -> Suzette laughed when Ben called dibs on two (there is nothing in the previous text making clear that it's about Ben)

What can I say, I'm loving it. Also; The item in Curly braces is a query? Sqare brackets I assume is a typo. The item in Round brackets seems to fit? The first turtle he tossed out followed the explosive with beady eyes? {Not sure this line works?} With a little caution, [it] (the) turtle was killed and dragged over to the butchering stations He ran at one but (it) was dodging even before in tried to leap at him, slashing with his whip at one of the legs Bulky showed his displeasure to [than] (that) by hitting Ozzy's other shin

Engineer4God

Tank oo fur da chap!

Felix H.

Fair point, but milo is a very busy engineer/ professor/scout/ troublemaker. I just say might be... Wise not to get more... Mentally unorthodox people ideas

Douglas

You are saying that as if milo isn't already in one

MadRat

Thx for the chappie 👍👏👏

Felix H.

Fair point, but I bet if one was to show uncle Damien the principles of gunpowder and rifling, even the mighty deep rock engineer might feel undergunned... On a second though, let's better not start an magitech arms race, right?

Michael Clark

Against the armadillos, crossbows and normal rifles would be useless/annoying. Dwarven cannons would be quite useful. The Dwarven pirates in Tunnel Rat have 19th-century cannons. The Deep Rock Dwarven Engineers have powered armor and rivet guns, rocket launchers, and exotic magi-tech weaponry that Damien would love to get his hands on. Sadly, a long way from Gadobhra. But who knows?

Great chapter! Love this fight, it’s like medieval weapons vs. mobile hungry tanks but with unexpected aerodynamics that gives the primitive army the advantage for the win.

Kensai

I think the flying smoke ships need Auric plating, Auric ingots were included with the ship in the box. I’m thinking a grove of Ironwood Oak planted in Countess Suzette’s, then infused with smoke would be prime building material.

Douglas

depends if it can be smoke infused, may make for some good plaiting for the hull of Ozzy's ship

Douglas

I mean that's 50/50 chance I think firearms would be on the list because on one had it was a fantasy world so maybe they didn't think firearms was a thing but on the other hand there has been mentions of dwarven cannons and firearms before so maybe some exotic firearms would be available but I don't think a punt gun would be useful in this situation I think having some emergency ballistae near the pens would work the best since I believe workers can get siege weaponry as a skill

Felix H.

Sounds like the crew needs to work on some armor pen. I know crossbows won't work for them, but did the corpo-idiots that made the weapon list consider an arquebuse or musket? Shouldn't be too hard to manufacture with a skilled alchemist nearby

Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander

A “lifeboat” for sailing the smoke?

Kensai

Best magical/magitech uses for turtle shells…GO! 1) Lovely tortoiseshell brush and comb set for Princess Sakhmet 2) Extra Large cauldrons for brewing protective ales and pilsners 3) Part of the equipment of the new shipyard for boiling pitch and making glue 4) Use one as the sounding box for an extra large Bard instrument. Hermes originally made Apollo’s Lyre from a shell he’d conned a poor tortoise out of. He gave the Lyre to Apollo as an apology gift for stealing his cattle.

Michael Clark

Ben, to get a new set of armor. Will make sure that is clear.

Book-Wyrm

my brain must live in the gutter because I can't read Army-Dillos without giggling.

Andrew Denton

I liked Sergeant Bulky. "Suzette laughed when he called dibs on two of the bulls..." Was the he Rolly?
