Anywho, my crackpot theory crafting aside, I think making it more obvious that the gloves are her last resort back up plan is a good idea. Her proactively shoring up a weakness is smart, i just wish it'd happened after she lost a fist fight or something, so we could see the impetus behind it. Distancing it from replacing the bolas makes sense to me, as it doesn't really seem like there's a linear progression from bolas to thunder knuckles.

Didn't Tesla want to create some sort of "wireless electricity" system? Dunno how viable that is with the other technological progress in the world, but maybe attaching a receiver to a blade would be cheaper than a full on battery pack. Probably a pipe dream, it seems like itd massively change the infrastructure of everything else. Except it's not like you've ever discussed how the electricity gets into the machines and ever present neon signs, it's just taken for granted. It'd sure make the wiring for her speakeasy // hidden vault easier, I was wondering how she was gonna run wires down through the Underground. Or tunnel through rock until she finds an accessible power line. And then deal with the electric company. Oh man I regret thinking about cyberpunk utilities now. Also, again, she can keep the electric gauntlets. Nothing says she can't have both, and they don't appreciably weigh her down or require too much material. But if she's trying to replace the electric bola, it should be with an item with similar long distance capabilities, to drop targets from afar. Maybe a goo ball that expands with some wiring inside it, sorta like a throwable taser. It's very hard to think of thrown weapons that wouldn't be better served by a firearm delivery system, except for (maybe) knives. Also also, if she's so concerned about the cost effectiveness, she shouldn't have chosen the throwing weapons perk. Cuz no matter what, anything she throws (and doesn't recover), is throwing money away.

Originally, I was thinking electric throwing knives which is why there’s a setup for them. And then I started thinking from Shiros perspective. An electric throwing knife would literally be like throwing away money. Especially if she used good components like the bolas to make them. That, and the gauntlet shores up a major weakness, which is hand to hand. A shock knife that she kept on her would work too, but then she have to drop her main gun and pull it out instead of a snappy punch. Thinking about it now though, she could turn a lot of the scrap metal laying around into cheap throw away weapons.

"I didn’t fall for any distractions this time, ignoring the glowing red path" -> how could she think the path with a hologram expertly dodging the sword is a distraction, rather than the goal to work towards? Not sure if this is another "thief in plate armor" situation, but: why would she make shocking gloves? Has she been in hand to hand combat once, the entire story? She was thinking about her new mastery of throwing weapons, decided the bola was too awkward and needed improvement to become effective, and then built something she's got no established skills in, in the opposite direction of all her strengths. I was expecting like, remote activated electric throwing knives, or a launcher to compact and deploy the bola, not gauntlets. I'm not saying they're not a good idea, or that she couldn't do both, just wondering at it being her first move.

Thank you! I fixed it.

"I ideally toyed" --> "I idly toyed", presumably.
