Alrighty! I rescind my whining, you're clearly on the ball when it comes to gasoline.

The issue isn’t that flammable liquids are rare, but finding the right one for the job. Alcohol was a consideration, but most run into the issue if not having a high enough proof to make an effective Molotov. In the type of setting Outrun is in, dilution would be extremely common, further increasing the difficulty of finding the right kind. I did think about industrial grade cleaners and the like, but then considered most of the ‘good’ ones would be locked behind licenses and the like just like liquid Notrogen as a way of corporate enforced chokehold on a civilian’s capability to do anything legally. The easy answer is find a Night Market, but she just left the only one she had connections with. Or steal it, but then I’d have to write a heist scene when I could just say she went and bought gas. Lighter fluid was also something I thought about, but they have a host of problems in Molotovs. Mainly though, lighter fluid burns hot and fast, but wouldn’t be able to keep up as sustained of a burn as gasoline. Lighter fluid also doesn’t spread all that well in a Molotov, which could be a good thing in some cases. It also doesn’t help that most common fuel systems in Outrun are based around AE3 which isn’t flammable.

Yeah I'm all for her cheesing the flask to create an infinite gasoline glitch, I like how she's proactive in finding and adding new liquids to it. However, my main point was that in a cyberpunk world, I have trouble believing flammable liquids are hard to come by. If a vending machine down the street sells RC Napalm for a nickel, why would she focus on making Molotovs with expensive and hard to find gasoline? Adding it to the flask is a good incentive for her to find it, providing she actually has a use for gasoline.

I had to look both of those up, but something similar seemed like it might be fun, at least for a one-off. My storyline is chock full, so it probably wouldn't come up for another hundred or more chapters, but I'll throw it in my notes somewhere.

I rewrote the part about the Molotovs. What I wrote wasn't exactly in line with my ideas, but basically, the gasoline was supposed to be more so a one-time purchase for near infinite Molotovs thanks to the canteen.

I wonder what would happen if shiro joins an organization like Danger Gal, and the puma squad lmao

"They Calvary Model fine pieces of machinery"-> the calvary model were "my hand wrapped around the pistol grip, ONE seemed to slow down."-> everything seemed? Time seemed? "In her hands WERE a rather PASSIVE spool of chord and two harnesses."-> was maybe? Or make em both plural objects, not quite sure how the grammar works here. Also, should probably be "impressive". "Were rather impressive spools of cord as well as two harnesses", "were two harnesses and a rather impressive spool of wire". Edit: oh, massive, duh. Molotov cocktails use gasoline cuz it's cheap and readily available, I'm not sure on the logic of going out of one's way and spending lots of money on it, when I'm sure there are many other flammable liquids around in cyber punk fantasy world. And just cuz I'm trying to be less of a dick, in general but mainly when I whine at authors, I like the Inquisitor's luck based super power. I also like that she didn't immediately realize what it was, even after watching the unlikely "drop the flask and catch a pen before his boss walks in" scene, but sooner or later she'll have to figure it out. She best start believing in ghost stories, she's in one, to quote Pirates of the Caribbean.
