She should get [Explosives Skill] when possible. Good for big boys like these.

Thanks for the chapter!

I mostly just want her to get "better" at stuff, and right now it seems as if once she unlocks/downloads the perk, she's maxed out whatever that ability is. She's already mastered walking silently, there aren't really a lot of ways for her to improve. Unless the actual perk changes. She may sorta increase her proficiency with "Dexterity" by touching a gun for small fractions of a second to give herself time to think, but the actual ability won't change. But yes I do see the benefits of the sorta background and quasi- realistic manner the System operates, from a narrative standpoint.

Personally I'm happy with how the system works in this story. Too much of the game elements of litrpg, and the story turns into arbitrary numbers (stats) game, trivialising any strategy and actual skills into a competition of who has higher stats and better Skills. But that's just my opinion.

Joshua

Wow she declined the pancake too?!? Thanks for the chapter

I do really like ability evolutions, though I think they work best when there is only one or two to focus on with other stuff supplementing. It makes each milestone and evolution of the ability feel more important then if the MC just had a couple dozen evolvable abilities where they all blend together and overlap. Restless will be a bit more along those lines, though a vastly different experience in terms of litRPG in other ways. I have the ability all planned and everything, I’ve just been having a bit of a hard time getting the details right, so it’s been a bit slower than I would’ve like coming out.

Gardor

It's probably just culture shock that the first skill she gets, the ability to walk quietly, won't grow with her and evolve into the ability to become intangible and invisible and also give her super high mana regen for some reason. That'd definitely be par for the course in most litrpgs.

Lost Rain

Yeah, the powers and abilities from the system really aren’t all that flashy. It’s a bit of a difficult situation since I decided to have my system be of the universe itself, so a lot of the powers are a bit… you know. There are some more powerful perks coming up, most starting at level twelve. There’s some fun ones related to auxiliary skills Shiro hasn’t unlocked yet I have planned too. And experience bars *shudders* I’ve tried keeping track of them in the past, but it gets so bloody difficult to keep everything together even with excel or google sheets. Same thing with stats. All the numbers merge together after a while. It’s the reason you have stories where the MC had 1000000 points in strength or something, and yet you never really can tell.

Maybe just define what exactly the rush of insight means, or what she's perceiving before taking that next step. No no again, I'm just whining, I'm sure the mechanics of your version of litrpg will turn out great. At the very least, I think it sorta forces the MC to specialize and plan, since they can't depend on a skill evolution getting them through a situation. Specialization being the main difference, usually every system having protagonist becomes an all rounder. It's just, I like to see progression in my litrpgs (and lits), and while she's certainly growing, it feels slightly removed from her System. Maybe it makes it a more organic growth, that isnt dependent on the reality breaking powers of a system, but also, it prevents the system from being fully entwined with cool new powers she gains every now and then. If that makes any sense, I guess I'm just bummed I don't get to imagine an experience bar ticking up.

Lost Rain

So, she did actually almost fall. I might come back and rewrite that section to make it a bit more clear. As for the more litRPG elements, it’s a bit rough. I never designed the Perks to be upgradable, which is fine, but it makes it difficult to go back and the add leveling. The interface also wasn’t designed with a lot of the things normal litRPGs have, like stats, since I didn’t want to gamify the system too much. I have briefly thought about adding to some more gamey litRPG elements with the upcoming Expansion, but I’m not a hundred percent sure about it. I’ll put up her stat sheet in the next chapter or the one after.

Gardor

I know the end had all the quest notifications pop up, but I spent the majority of this chapter wishing there was a bit more litrpg in this story. Specifically, I wish her perks (which mostly function like skills, to me) could level up. Like, after using the schematic perk to find her base, she gets the ability to always know the cardinal directions or something. Just me whining, I know it'd invalidate a lot of how the system power works. Also, might wanna throw in a character sheet update sometime soon, when she says things like "I toggled on all my perks", I'm already struggling to remember what that entails. "A rush of Insight hit me as I cautiously took a step forward, entering the cavernous chamber. I walked forward hesitantly- My body tumbled forward, my foot hitting nothing but empty space. I reacted quickly, tossing the entirety of my body weight back and shifting my center of gravity to regain control. " I'm a bit confused by these paragraphs: is this insight showing her a sorta physical prophetic sensation of what she's about to feel, and then she never steps over the edge? Or does the rush of insight not accomplish anything, and then she actually almost falls?
