Yeah Bryan and Mike wanted Korrasami to be a thing, but the studio was like "no no no we can't let the youth audience know about... GAYS" so they had to be real discrete with it so it could be played off as them being just *best* friends

This episode really highlights the difference between Mako and Korra’s friendship and Korra and Asami’s friendship (and Mako and Asami for that matter.) At every turn, Mako was questioning them. The women understood each other without a lot of need for explaining. Asami drove where she needed to drive. She got Korra the right distance to jump onto the truck, and they said nothing to each other. Just acted. Also Korra hates making Asami upset but has no problem upsetting Mako. Their camaraderie really is nice.
