I'm not sure I'm a fan of Alex's power being channeled from Hannah. Seemed for pretty much the whole story thus far that she only provided the initial investment of power but that he has cultivated it as his own since then, despite continuing to call it her power. Plus Hannah's friend that built the sanctum was never talked about as borrowing power from Hannah. Once Hannah gifts that initial power to someone, if they are able to cultivate and master it, it is their power. She even talked about her fellow isekei heroes having it on the other world but they never nurtured it into a permanent power. I mean I kind of understand why the author is doing it, he doesn't want to set up alex as a future god, and if the power was his then he almost assuredly would eventually become one if enough people venerated him. Which is almost guaranteed as he is probably gonna live for hundreds or thousands of years once he advances his artificial life enforcement technique to the next level. He's already probably looking at a 2-300 year lifespan, and once he has a chance to deep delve into magic again he's probably going to come up with several ways to turn off aging. Take a dude who never ages, eventually has Baelin or beyond levels of magic power and an OP super teleportation divinity power and he's a shoe in for future godhood, especially since he's like an actually genuinely good version of young Uldar. He actually cares about and for people and tries to improve the lives of everyone around him. That kind of personality combined with his genius at magic that's further empowered by his mark and his incredible work ethic is going to leave people damn near worshipping him once he's more well known.

Amazing chapter thanks

I’m watching an episode of the original Star Trek now. The similarities between Landrew in the episode “Return of the Archons “ and Uldar here are eerie! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708476/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

What an awesome chapter. Personally I started a crisis of faith about 15 months ago. Tobias rings true to feelings that I had. Not 65 years but still what spectacular rage and pain written.

Scott Emery

This is a logical solution: get people to pray to the Traveler. doing so strengthens her as a source of miracles to the people, while simultaneously lessening the amount of power that is going to the body of Uldar (and therefore to the enemies who have his body).

mant06

Indroducing life enforcement to the military as a whole could also be worth while.

Joel Magnuson

Maybe... but I'm 90% sure that there was a ravener knight/tracker waiting nearby when Stalker and the First Apostle went into Uldars realm

I'm pretty sure the fae lord guy took the body and throne. Empty chair and all that prophecy stuff

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter. Alex should move the sanctum back to Generasi and make it his mobile base.

Joel Magnuson

Honestly I'm afraid the Ravener will pull something Zerg ish with Uldars body, ie upgrade all monsters and/or cores. Because that's the kind of feeling I get from reading the Raveners point of view and now it has access to divine flesh it can also override any programing (probably) as it has access to its maker.

Tijay Arnie

Just cos it's going somewhere, doesn't mean that it's tangible, you get what I mean?

Greymantle

That still leaves the problem of all that faith power flowing to whichever enemy stole Uldar's body & throne, whether that's the Ravener or the Fae Lord. Given this, a better approach would be to instead tell the people: "As you know, Uldar does not intervene directly in our world. However, the threat of the Ravener this cycle is unprecedented. To aid us in this fight, Uldar has elevated the Traveler. She will be able to intervene directly, but only if we direct all our prayers towards her—yes, even those normally reserved for Uldar. This is how Uldar can provide us the most aid." Or if they don't mind lying to the people even more directly, they could say: "....Uldar, in his great benificence and generosity, asks that all prayers normally made towards him instead be directed towards the Traveler. This is Uldar's wish until the Ravener is destroyed."

Borisalv

Tobias said -> “That is also why I sense divinity within these halls, and that the divine energy is being drained away. I believe that it’s streaming away, seeking to rejoin its symbols: Uldar’s throne and his body.” ---> So they sense the damn energy AND they know its rejoining with uldars body , so umm.... why not just follow it to IT ???

Fleetpanda

Life Force Enhancement training now maybe? It’d be cool if the saint did it too. That, and sparring with Hart, teaching Destra new spells, and doing all of the above with Cedric…

Fleetpanda

He can teleport, why would he use the cave?

Reds

I think that was the implication, that the Traveler also helped make the General. It's soon gonna be common knowledge that the General is blessed by the Traveler and can teleport so easily either way

Reds

Agreed. Very practical and realistic solution instead of just revealing to everyone at once that their god is dead and expecting them to unite in some cheesy fashion

A. B. Edwards

This is shaping up nicely. Tobias Jay was such a minor character and I thought he would blow up but turned out to be the smart one. To use the existing religion to form a new one, pretty much saying Hannah is a demigod under Ulder is quite smart. It mirrors real world religions where some minor God (like Hercules) grew to become a far more important God over time in the Greek Pantheon. Very smart move.

Decide

I was kind of hoping that they'd blame the Mark of the General on the Traveler, or at least say it was a joint venture. I like how the priests "path" had made him more level headed about these things. I can imagine that it'll be added to their Traveler religion, where what you learn in the past will help guide you in the future. I hope her theme is expanded.

I really hope that we get to see Hannah and Carey again, I think that we’re due for a nice vacation in Generasi with Theresa and her family before the final battle. We haven’t seen Alex with his future in laws in years so I imagine there’s a lot of catching up to do

Trevor Mergen

Thanks

Munirah Hutchinson

Ah, the end is coming in truth. This has been an epic. I can't wait to see how things play out. Thanks again for your hard work J.M.

Callum Brunt

Very smart. Changing a nations religion all at once is difficult. But using the current religion to bolster the following of the traveller, sk that when uldurs transgressions are revealed they still have the faith and support that they once had, just in a different place, will definitely help in the future

Jamie Messier

Generasi huh? Travelers cave it is …. My guess.
