It's great we have PF novels like this which skip some of the classic tropes from "the hero's journey". It's way more simple to write a story about a orphaned/isekaied murder hobo, than a character whith connections and feelings.

Beautifully written

I see other people saying that they didn't like this chapter. But I loved it. It shows Claygon's character development and growth, and I think without the small moments like these then the whole story would just be Alex getting stronger and endless fights. Which while still interesting would be nowhere near the same caliber of story your currently writing. But anyway TFTC!

3 Chapters for a Good-Bye scene is a bit too much. Just hug and go. Even folks on the eve of death in wars didn't weep so much. (talked to some of them). IMHO, not taking your primary tank - aka Claygon is silly. There are enough folks to protect Selina in Generasi. And he can get some mercenaries as well to protect her - they just need to delay till the Watchers come anyways if there is a [Home Attack].

I think it’s because if someone is searching for them, anywhere they lived previously would be some of the first places checked. In that case it’s better for them to be somewhere new.

Didn’t love it. No question that it’s well written. But this is feeling a little too drawn out imho.

Rebecca Junker

Still time to fill her with potions and turn her into a giant.

Great chapter! The articulation of identity was maybe your best writing yet in this series.

Owen Kaz

The depth of emotion from Claygon was astounding. This is the first time we've seen the true depths of his character and intelligence. Great writing

Bjorgrund seems to like Selina, maybe? I forget her age, but she's around 13 now?

Owen Kaz

Hmm, why would she refuse to go there of all places?

I have never read a story that manages to capture so many untold feelings in beautiful words but wow. Legit, just wow. You are really knocking it out the park here, boss. Thanks for the chap, see you tomorrow!

Great chapter today, thanks!

2/3 hard decision I agree with. The work bad job, not so much, minus temporary times when it will get better later. Once upon a time ago it would have been true. Now there are far more options on how to better yourself or look for a better job. The hard part is finding time to do that. It's easier to lay down and accept it, like the priests, it's harder to step up and get what you want, like Alex. He didn't except just being a fool. He chose to find a different path. So yeah, you can chose to work a job you hate to put food on the table, or you can chose to spend more time and go get the job you actually want. Your choice.

Michael

Thank you for the Thanksgiving post!
